3-Day Summer STEM Expedition Camp
A hands-on, NASA-inspired camp where students become scientists, engineers, astronauts, and mission planners.
The Curious Minds Explorers 3-Day Earth to Moon Mission STEM Camp is designed for students in Grades 3–6. Over three exciting days, students investigate Earth, prepare for space travel, and experience the challenges of landing and working on the Moon.
Each day blends storytelling, inquiry-based investigations, engineering design challenges, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. Students learn that successful space missions begin with curiosity, testing, perseverance, and redesign.
Perfect for: schools, homeschool groups, libraries, museums, community organizations, churches, and summer enrichment programs. Activities use affordable, easy-to-find materials.
Inside the Camp
During this three-day mission, students explore Earth science, space travel, Moon survival, rocket science, lunar landing systems, water investigations, and mission design.
· Investigate UV light, sunlight, rainbows, clouds, weather, and Earth observation
· Learn how satellites help scientists study Earth
· Design and test paper airplanes, straw rockets, balloon rockets, and Moon landers
· Compare Earth and the Moon using scale models and distance activities
· Plan Moon survival supplies and design astronaut space suits
· Explore water on the Moon and build a simple water filtration system
· Create an authentic mission patch and celebrate the completed mission
Throughout camp, students ask questions, collect evidence, test prototypes, redesign solutions, and communicate discoveries—just like real NASA scientists and engineers.
