Welcome To May Science Adventures!
A month filled with flight, light, weather, color, and hands‑on discovery! May is the perfect time to celebrate science in motion.
Dear Teachers and Families,
In this packet, we are bringing science to life. It is more than a set of activities; it is an invitation for students to ask questions like scientists, test ideas like engineers, observe like meteorologists, and think creatively like inventors.
Throughout the packet, students will collect data, improve designs, and reflect on what they discover, just like real scientists and engineers do. Science is everywhere: in the way a paper airplane glides, in the push of a rocket lifting off, in the bending of light that creates a rainbow, in the clouds that signal tomorrow’s weather, and even in the hidden colors inside a simple marker.
When students investigate everyday phenomena, they begin to see the world differently with curiosity, confidence, and wonder.

Each activity is built to strengthen curiosity, critical thinking, and engineering design skills using:
What students will do this May:
Flight Physics
Design and test paper airplanes to understand aerodynamics.
Aerospace Engineering
Build and launch model rockets to learn about thrust and motion.
The Science of Light
Explore rainbows and discover how light bends and reflects.
Meteorology
Observe clouds and predict weather patterns like a real meteorologist.
Color Separation
Create chromatography flowers while exploring hidden colors.
Coming Next Month
June: Sun Science
Exploring Light, Heat, Motion & Color. The Sun is the source of energy for life on Earth.
The Power of the Sun
Every day, the Sun sends light and energy across space to our planet. But how often do we pause to ask questions about it?
- • What kind of light comes from the Sun?
- • How does sunlight turn into heat?
- • Why do shadows change?
- • How does white light create rainbows?
June Hands-On Experiences
UV Bead Investigation
Discover invisible ultraviolet light all around us.
Solar Cooker Challenge
Harness the Sun’s heat energy through engineering.
Shadow Tracking
Observe Earth’s rotation through changing shadows.
Rainbow Through Bubbles
Reveal the hidden colors inside pure sunlight.
Join Our Summer Camps!
